Services: Complex Pelvic Surgery

Not all patients are candidates for minimally invasive surgery. In fact, certain problems, including hysterectomies for very large uteruses, the removal of large fibroids or ovarian cysts and tumors, as well as surgeries complicated by extensive scarring are sometimes best managed with an “open” laparotomy approach. The doctors from the McConnell Division are all very experienced in the triage of complicated surgical issues, and will often be able to recommend the safest approach to complicated surgery with the highest likelihood of a good outcome, thus minimizing the chance of a prolonged recovery or surgical complications.
